Safety

PrimePort is committed to providing and promoting a safe working environment for staff and all other port users.

Safety is our number one priority.  PrimePort is a safety sensitive environment with a number of hazards that must be safely managed.  Everyone working at the Port has a responsibility for managing health and safety and following health and safety procedures, guidelines and rules.

If you are going to be a regular visitor to the Port, either as an employee, contractor or other port user and wish to have unescorted admission to operational areas, you will need to complete a Port Safety Induction and be granted an access card.

Security

PrimePort complies with the Maritime Security Act of 2004 and its current amendments.  Procedures to control access to PrimePort's secure areas are detailed in the Port Security Plan.

Maritime New Zealand is the designated authority responsible for the administration of the Maritime Security Act 2004 in New Zealand.  This Act enables New Zealand to meet its legislative obligations under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
